Kitchen barstool happy hours. Virtual dance parties. Our celebrations may look a little different lately, but the happy, heartfelt feeling behind them? That will never change. With Mother’s Day fast approaching, we at Laki have been reflecting on our gratitude for the mothers and maternal figures who have shaped our lives. This Mother’s Day, let’s do our best to make mom feel relaxed and loved. Whether you’re together or apart, here are some ideas:
Connect – Give mom a call! Even if you send something in the mail, she’ll still want to hear your sweet voice. Better yet, give her a video call so she can also see that cute lil’ head she squeezed out of her body all those years ago.
Have a blast from the past – Get the whole family to jump on a video call for Mother’s Day and take turns screen sharing old family photos and videos. It’s a great way to reconnect, share some laughs, and relive favorite memories. After walking down memory lane, turn it into a game night and take turns playing Pictionary or charades.
Get crafty – Make a handmade card or present. Sure, you haven’t made a present for your mom since the 5th grade, but no time like the present to get creative! Bust out your watercolors and paint your mom’s favorite flower, or learn to stitch up a sweet cross-stitch for your mom to display in her kitchen. It might not look perfect, but she’ll appreciate the time and effort you took to make something personal.
Take her to the islands (from the bathtub) – Surprise mom by ordering our Aloha Rose Bath Soak, or another yummy scent, and treat her to an at-home spa day! Give her the gift of relaxation and encourage her to spend some quality bath time listening to her favorite podcast or reading a new book – all while reaping physical and mental health benefits. Don’t have a bathtub? Our soaks are great for an at-home foot bath or a hand soaks too!
To all the moms out there: We see you, we appreciate you, and we love you!
Love,
Team Laki
P.S. So your mom isn’t much of a bath taker? Don’t worry, we’ve got a shower fizzy for that :)
